With BOXIT the entire IBM extended ASCII character set is easily available
for creating display screens, menus, data entry screens ... etc.

To start the program:

  1. Type  BOXIT  at your DOS command line and press <Enter>.
  2. At the main copyright screen, press any key.
  3. At the prompt  "Use an existing file..? (Y/N)"  press the N key.
  4. Then you see a small square cursor in your upper left screen corner.
       a. Use arrow keys to move square cursor.
       b. Press "?" for a help screen.
       c. Press "P" for the BOXIT palette.  Once the palette is on screen,
          position the palette cursor on the character that you want using
          the arrow keys and then press "P" once more to leave the palette.
          Whenever you leave the palette, the small square cursor is loaded
          with the desired character.  To start drawing, press "D" and move
          the square cursor with arrow keys.  To stop drawing, press "D"
          once more.  The D key toggles drawing ON/OFF.
  5. To exit the drawing screen, press the X key.

NOTE:  Some color monitors may produce the "snow" effect when using BOXIT.
With this version, there is no way around the problem.  All writing to the
screen is by direct memory addressing without regard to the vertical
retrace time .. hence the snow on some color monitors.  Sorry!
